Daily Prayers 5 – 11 April

Daily Prayers 5 – 11 April

The following prayers have been written by Charlotte Adjepong. Charlotte prays into some of the practical ways we can grow in faith.

April 5 – Fully Submitting to God.

‘Humble yourselves, therefore under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time He may exalt you’ (1 Peter 2:13, ESV)

Lord, as we come before You, we humble ourselves and completely give up our own will. We align our thoughts to Your will as we fill our minds with Your word; Lord, help us to start each new day a fresh with You allowing You to lead and guide us down the path You have for us.

Holy Spirit, as we dwell in the Bible, help us to stay obedient to Christ throughout the day. Lord, if parts of our day start to become overwhelming, Holy Spirit prompt us to pause for a second to resubmit our time, our situation and our day to You again.

Lord Jesus, we are weak without You; so, Lord, today, we are fully submitting to You and allowing You the space to work through us in a strong and powerful way by Your Spirit. Amen

April 6 – Dwelling in God’s presence.

‘But let the godly rejoice. Let them be glad in God’s presence. Let them be filled with joy’ (Psalm 68:3).

Father, when we spend time with You it helps us to live a happy and fulfilled life. It strengthens us and it makes us more aware of Your presence around us. Being consistent in our relationship with You, Lord, and spending time in Your presence, helps us to mature and be stable in our faith.

When trials come, and they will come at points in our lives, these will cause us to grow and mature more in our faith. Thank You Lord that You watch over us as we go out and when we come in; and no matter what we face, Your grace and love are continuously available to us – if we will ask for them. How great and marvellous You are! In Jesus’ name. Amen.

April 7 – Dwelling in God’s presence 2.

Because of Christ and our faith in Him, we can now come boldly and confidently into God’s presence’ (Ephesians 3:12).

Father, because of our faith in Christ, we can come boldly before You. We can pray confidently knowing and believing You hear and answer prayer. Why? Because You know us as Your sons and daughters in Christ.

Lord, being in Your presence brings so much peace and divine rest. By being in Your presence it opens our eyes to Your unconditional love in Christ; and no matter what comes before us, Lord, we are reassured that You are in control and will always bring glory to Christ in and through any given situation we face.

Dwelling in Your presence helps us to be in tune with the Holy Spirit, and have a deep intimacy with You as our Father knowing You and being fully known by You in Christ. Hallelujah. Amen

April 8 – Communicating with God.

‘This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us’ (1 John 5:14).

Lord, thank You that You give us confidence so we can approach You with boldness and with faith. We can ask You in prayer, and tell You anything, Lord, and You hear us.

Lord, you desire a personal relationship with us through Christ. In Christ, You know us so intimately. You know where each of us are at in life, in faith and in our level of spiritual maturity. You don’t wait until we get to the next level or place – You come to the exact place where we are at that moment. We pray for anyone struggling in faith today; may You sustain and lead them through into a new place of spiritual maturity.

You faithfully hold Your truth and Your promises in Your hands; You are close to us, You love us unconditionally in Christ. Lord, You want us to come and be open and honest with You. Help us, Lord, to keep the communication lines open with You, and help us to pause in the busyness of our day to speak to You with the Spirit’s help. In Jesus’ name. Amen

April 9 – Spiritual health.

Keeping spiritually healthy is an important part of our personal growth in following Christ. If we don’t keep an eye on our spiritual health, then it affects all other areas of our lives. Creating a routine that produces spiritual health goals is a good way to improve our soul’s health – it also enriches our relationship with God.

‘My son, pay attention to what I say; turn your ear to my words. Do not let them out of your sight, keep them within your heart; for they are life to those who find them and health to one’s whole body. Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it’ (Proverbs 4:20-23).

Lord, grant us a great love for Your word. We pray that as a church, online and in person, we lead many people into a great love for Your word. Your word is the bread of life; Your Spirit is living water for our souls. Feed us Your living bread, and pour into us Your living water. We open our hearts, minds, will and relationships to receive that which You want to give to us for it will be health to every part of our bodies, souls and spirits. In Jesus’ name. Amen

April 10 – Spiritual health 2.

Lord, I pray today that as a church, Telford Elim, online and in person, will be more aware of our spiritual health. Help us to create goals to improve our health; help us to be prompted to pray more; Lord, there is so much power in prayer and it’s one of the foundations of our soul’s spiritual health.

Help us to spend time in Your living word; let it fill us up to overflowing. Let Your word equip and prepare us so we can draw from it when the world throws its rubbish at us each day.

Prompt us to Fast; through fasting, Lord, it draws us closer to You, it brings clarity and guidance. Give us a great hunger to seek Your Spirit’s fullness and to constantly live in that fullness. To seek to partner with You in Your mission to the world through Christ, witnessing and sharing the Gospel which will develop our faith and spiritual strength. Thank You, Lord, that these are some of the goals we can put in place; help us to improve our spiritual health and enrich our relationship with You. In Jesus’ name. Amen

April 11 – Growing in faith.

Father, as we look forward to the beginning of #DoYouKnowHim next Sunday, we pray that this Telford wide mission will be a time when many people are brought to a place of knowing Jesus as their Saviour and Lord. As different churches put on special events, as we follow an united pathway seeking to proclaim Christ – may Your anointing and blessing be upon each aspect.

Lord, there are so many people around our Borough who do not know Jesus. We ask for divine appointments over the 10 weeks of the mission during which many people will have encounters, dreams and revelations of the Risen and Ascended and Glorified Christ. We pray that men and women, young adults, young people and children will come to Jesus as their Saviour.

As Telford Elim seeks to reach out with the Good News about Jesus, in person and online, will You guide and direct us in how best to do so. We ask that as people come into our services in person, and others access them online, Your Spirit will be convicting and challenging people about their own sin. May this conviction lead them to seek Jesus the Saviour for forgiveness and a new, living relationship with Him.

May they also begin to follow Jesus as His disciples joining local churches, including ours, growing in the faith, and becoming disciple makers themselves. Amen
