The Daily Prayers this week are those written for the church’s month of prayer and fasting.
Jan 3 – Charlotte Adjepong – Roman 12:12 says, ‘be faithful or persistent in prayer.’ Thank You, Lord Jesus, that we can come before You and pray, talk to You. We have many reasons to thank You for the blessings we have received, to praise You, to ask for forgiveness and to seek Your guidance.
We ask for help in every area where we struggle to submit to Your Lordship – You always answer. Lord, as we continue to talk to You we are rooted more deeply in You; let Your will be done in our lives. A closer walk with you is what we long for. Please speak to us while teaching us to listen; as we speak less, meditate on Your word, and live to have Your purposes fulfilled in us – we enter into true worship.
Holy Spirit, give us the desire to go deeper in the areas that we lack depth in, there is no such thing as going too deep. Your word assures us that if we draw closer to Christ then He will draw nearer to us (James 4:8). That is what we declare over the lives of every person in our associated with Telford Elim, in person or online. In Jesus’ name. Amen
Jan 4 – Sam Adjepong – Father we thank You that You called us into fellowship with Your Son Jesus Christ. You are the one who first loved us and sent Your dear Son to rescue, redeem and restore us into a relationship with You. As we start this New Year, Lord, create in us clean hearts and renew a right spirit within us.
We desire to know You more, and to be submissive to the Lord Jesus so we may love Him with all our hearts, soul, strength and mind. Holy Spirit, come and fill us afresh and make us more and more like Jesus to the glory of the Father. As we spend time with You in daily communion, may a Christ-like fragrance rest upon us so that people may be drawn to the Saviour. Hear our prayer in Jesus’ name. Amen
Jan 5 – Sam Adjepong – Our Father in heaven, thank You for the gift of Your Son – our Lord Jesus Christ. He came to reconcile us to You so that we may know You intimately, that we may love You and live to please You. We thank You that You also sent Your Holy Spirit to dwell in us, and guide us into all truth. We seek a closer walk with You through Christ – to remain in Jesus so that we may bear much fruit and the world know we are Your children.
Then Christ will make His home in our hearts as we trust in Him and we be made complete with all His fullness of life and power. O Lord, renew a holy passion within us for a closer walk and a fuller understanding of Your purposes for our lives. We pray let Your kingdom come, and Your will be done in our lives, in our homes and in Your church – for the glory of Jesus. Amen
Jan 6 – Steve Higgins – Father God, we thank You that Your love in Christ passes all understanding. You know everything about us, our strengths and weaknesses. You have called us by name to be reconciled to You through the blood of our Saviour, Jesus Christ. Thank You that He intercedes for us, and covers us with a robe of righteousness.
We pray that You will help us to be taken into a deeper relationship with You, through Jesus by the Spirit, so that we may grow in faith and will be more attentive to Your calling on our lives.
That Your love will continue to change us into who You want us to be in Jesus. We praise You for all you do in our lives. We give thanks for Your daily provision and the many blessings You bestow on our lives. You are worthy to receive all honour and glory.
We hunger and thirst for more of Your presence. Let Your will be done in our daily lives so that we may draw closer to You in all that we do. Very often we can be misguided in our lives by walking our own way and not listening to Your still small voice.
Lord, You know our hearts and desires, we pray that everything we do will be aligned to Your perfect will. We are formed and made in Your image, may we reflect everything You are in our daily living being spiritually mature to face any trials and tribulations. Help us to remember Your grace in Christ which enables us to face even the toughest days in our lives.
Help us to focus on the new life we have in Jesus which gives us joy, hope and the peace that in turn gives us the strength to walk in the power of the Spirit. We pray that we may know Your favour as we seek to draw closer to You. In Jesus’ name. Amen
Jan 7 – Steve Higgins – Father, we give You praise for our Saviour, Jesus Christ, who is the author and perfecter of our faith. We rejoice that our names are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life, and that You are God the Father who has prepared a place for us to dwell for all eternity in Your presence.
Lord Jesus, You left no stone unturned when You came down to earth to redeem humankind. Help us to remember we have been bought with a price. ‘Greater love has no man than this but to lay down his life for his friend’ – we are not our own; we have been bought with the price of Your death.
What a privilege it is to know we are a son or daughter of the Almighty God because of You, Lord Jesus, and You call us friends. He watches over us and sends His angels to protect us from the evil of this world. Father, help us to live our lives walking in the victory of our salvation, making sin minimal in our daily living; loving our enemies, and showing compassion to those who cause pain and hurt in people’s lives. In Jesus’ mighty name. Amen
Jan 8 – Denise Gore – Father, we want to thank You for our Lord Jesus Christ. At the heart of our faith is covenant, Galatians 5:1 NIV, ‘It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.’
Father, thank You that Your gift of freedom, that we receive by faith in Your son, Jesus Christ, means we no longer need to be legalistic nor earn our way to You.
Thank You that as we stand steadfast we can continue to remain free; help us daily to accept and not waste this freedom that came at such a high cost to Christ. Help us to not selfishly fulfil our needs; rather, to serve You and each other in love, knowing that this includes accepting ourselves in Christ in order to truly love and accept others.
May we see ourselves as You see us, Jesus, and not waiver in this depending on how we feel, or what we do, so we can be who You have called us to be – casting off all that would hinder, in order to impact others bringing glory to You. Amen
Jan 9 – Denise Gore – Father, thank You that we need not be in bondage to the past nor concern ourselves about the future. As we trust in Christ each day, You will fill us afresh as we seek You and ask You to fill us with Your Spirit. Thank You that each day You give us our daily bread – so as we live in the present moment and not dwell on the past, nor worry about the future, we can remain free and positively impact those we meet each day.
Help us to form good habits each day, praying, meditating on Your word, connecting with You and our brothers and sisters in Christ, drawing on His sustaining grace and mercy, and the Holy Spirit’s power, as we take up our cross daily, in order to fulfil Your purposes in and through our lives.
Lord Jesus, may we declare daily that You are our Lord and Saviour, give us faith to proclaim this in every situation. Amen
