This week’s daily prayers are written by Denise Gore and are based on Romans 8:1, ‘Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.’
November 22 – Father, thank You that we know that in Christ we have everlasting life through His atoning sacrifice – the sacrifice of Your Son, Jesus Christ whose blood was shed for us at Calvary opened the door to eternal salvation for all who will repent and believe in Him.
We praise Your holy name for the gift of eternal life in Him, and the opportunity each of us has to accept this gift; and thereby, become acceptable to You developing a relationship with You knowing we are no longer under condemnation.
Help us to come daily to You sharing our lives with You and seeking Your will meditating on Your word, and talking to You so we can know You more. Your word tells us clearly that we can bring our cares, worries and requests to the Lord Jesus – for He cares for us. Amen
November 23 – Father, thank You that You know everything about us – You know how we feel, and when we try to hide from You. Help us to really grasp the fact that we are no longer under condemnation, and that there is nothing we can do to make You love us more than You already do. You love us for who we are in Christ, but enough to want to change us to be more like Christ.
May we continue to daily come to You as we are, remembering You can see through any masks we may try wearing. We acknowledge that You want us to come to You in our brokenness, our frustration, our fear and trembling; indeed, with whatever it us that holds us back from being real. Thank You that when we do, You restore, heal and give us everything we need to press on for Jesus’ glory. Amen
November 24 – Lord Jesus, thank You for the Gift of the Holy Spirit who comes into in our hearts when we accept You as our Lord and Saviour. He never leaves, is our teacher, comforter, advocate and intercessor who never lets us down, and the One who helps us to live for You.
Thank You, Jesus that we are free from living according to the flesh, and that we do not have to carry guilt and shame over our past failures. Your forgiveness is total, and our salvation in You ensures we are fully accepted by the Father.
Help us to ‘forget what is behind, straining forward toward for what is ahead’ (Philippians 3:13).
Thank You, Lord Jesus, that nothing can separate us from Your love – help us to find ways of sharing this message with our friends, colleagues, neighbours, family members and all who You may put in our way. Amen
November 25 – Father, help us to grow deeper into You leaving behind our old selves so we can bring glory to You through Jesus, and grow Your Kingdom as we live, worship and serve as You call us to do in Jesus.
Help us to be salt and light in the knowledge that this is not dependent on how we feel; rather, it is based on knowing who Christ is and the difference He has made in each of our lives.
May people see Christ in us and want to come to know more of Him, help us to always be prepared to share Your Gospel message secure in the knowledge that You equip us and will give us the words to say as we partner with Your Holy Spirit.
Thank You that it is often in the ordinary that You do the extraordinary, and as we develop relationships with those we have regular contact with, we can be a beacon of Your light and hope. In Jesus’ name. Amen
November 26 – Thank You Jesus that we know the true meaning of Love through You, and that Your word tells us that Love covers a multitude of sins.
Help us to live in unity with each other, knowing we are human and will get it wrong, and will upset each other from time to time – say and do the wrong thing. However, we must follow Your example and Your word, and learn to hold short accounts and forgive each other, sometimes our own selves, and move forward in order to not hinder each other or the work You want to achieve in and through us.
We know that as we forgive others, our heavenly Father will forgive us. Thank You, Lord Jesus, that You made provision for our redemption, restoration and recovery – we pray for Your continued grace and mercy in our lives. Amen
November 27 – Father, as we seek to reimagine our relationships, we know we cannot do this in our own strength – we need Your wisdom and discernment, and for Your word and Spirit to order our steps.
Help this to be a concept that excites us rather than brings fear – to be able to live in the present rather than look too far ahead or dwell on previous disappointments.
Thank You that we are fearfully and wonderfully made, and that each one of us is unique – so we will have different types of relationships according to Your will as we remain open to Your leading, mastery and will for our lives.
We pray for clarity as to what this looks like both individually and collectively as a church in order to grow Your Kingdom in Telford. In Jesus’ name and for His glory. Amen
November 28 – Thank You, Lord Jesus, for each member of the church, those associated with it, and those who watch online – may we all continue to come to know You more Jesus and become disciples who disciple others.
We pray for all the leaders in the church that as they seek Your will and vision for each area of the church, Lord, that You will reveal Your purposes.
We pray Your continued blessing and protection on each one, and that as we approach the season of Advent that You will grant a time of renewal, refreshing and rest in preparation for the year ahead. We thank You for all that You have done and are doing, for Your faithfulness to us despite all our faults and failings, and the many times we get it wrong.
Thank You Lord Jesus that we are indeed no longer under condemnation – we are in You as Your daughters and sons. We pray – build Your Kingdom here at Telford Elim. Amen
