Feb 13 – This week’s daily prayers focus on Proverbs 3:5, ‘Trusting God with ALL your heart,’ by Ann Burke-Molloy, and originally written in July 2013.
Lord, as I meditate upon Your Word and what it means to open all my heart to You, I pray that You would help me get in touch with my heart.
I want to walk in the freedom that You have promised in Galatians 5:1, ‘Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.’ In Jesus’ Name. Amen
Feb 14 – Trust means to have a firm reliance on the integrity, ability or character of a person or thing.
Lord, You ask us to trust You with every aspect of our lives. I recognise that to build trust requires time spent together.
I pray that You will reveal Your will for my life through Your Word. Proverbs 16:9, ‘A man’s heart plans his way, But the Lord directs his steps.’ In Jesus’ Name. Amen
Feb 15 – Psalm 139 is my prayer for today.
I thank You, the Everlasting God, that You are not surprised by anything in my life.
That You are faithful and just to forgive when I confess and truly repent of my sins.
Your love is unconditional and life-changing.
Lord God, You are all-seeing, all-knowing, all-powerful, and everywhere present. You know me, You are with me, and Your great gift is to allow me to know You. In Jesus’ Name. Amen
Feb 16 – Heavenly Father, even though my future is filled with uncertainty, I trust that You are in control.
Isaiah 42:9, CSB, ‘The past events have indeed happened. Now I declare new events; I announce them to you before they occur.”’ Jeremiah 29:11-13, ‘For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.’ In Jesus’ Name. Amen
Feb 17 – The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. Lamentations 3:22-23.
As I enter a new day may I be aware of Your Presence, as I accept Your invitation to spend time with You.
Develop within me a childlike unwavering confidence in Your wisdom, faithfulness and love. In Jesus’ Name. Amen
Feb 18 – The heart is the focus of the personal life – the reasoning, responding, deciding self. It is the deepest centre of the human person, the driving force and the most fundamental values from which our actions and attitudes come.
It is so deep that only God fully knows it.
The heart is the source of our deepest wishes and desires and decisions of the will. (Mark Driscoll & Gerry Breshears).
Lord, help me guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life. Proverbs 4:23. In Jesus’ Name. Amen
Feb 19 – ‘God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.’ Psalm 46:1.
I thank You that You are always there to help me, providing refuge, security, and peace.
I can rest on the promise that every new day, You do not fail! Zephaniah 3:5, CSB, ‘’The righteous Lord is in her; he does no wrong. He applies his justice morning by morning; he does not fail at dawn, yet the one who does wrong knows no shame.’
My prayer is that I would be someone whose heart is after Your heart (Acts 13:22). Indeed, we as a community of believers would be a people after God’s own heart. In Jesus’ Name. Amen
