Daily Prayers 20-26 February

Daily Prayers 20-26 February

Feb 20 – The Daily Prayers this week use Mark 4:3-9, and the Parable of the Sower, as the basis. CSB, ‘“Listen! Consider the sower who went out to sow. As he sowed, some seed fell along the path, and the birds came and devoured it.

Other seed fell on rocky ground where it didn’t have much soil, and it grew up quickly, since the soil wasn’t deep. When the sun came up, it was scorched, and since it had no root, it withered away.

Other seed fell among thorns, and the thorns came up and choked it, and it didn’t produce fruit.

Still other seed fell on good ground and it grew up, producing fruit that increased thirty, sixty, and a hundred times.” Then Jesus said, “Let anyone who has ears to hear listen.”’

Father, we pray that You will raise up many sowers of your word in Telford Elim, in person and online. That we would sow in season, prepare when out of season, and always keep ourselves in the centre of Your will.

We ask that through all the journey of life with all its varied experiences, that all we in our church, in person and online, may walk in step with Your Spirit.

Give us ready ears to hear, minds to understand, and hearts to believe Your word – people whose default setting is that we will seek to sow the seed of the Kingdom by our lives’ example, and words. In Jesus’ name. Amen

Feb 21 – Father, we intercede for others so that they may find Your rhythm and timing for them as generous sowers of Kingdom Seed.

We pray for other churches in our area, as well as all the churches in Telford & Wrekin, and Shropshire, may 2023 be a year of the sowing of the Hope of Your Gospel far and wide.

We ask that we will prepare the ground so that when the seed is sown, there are receptive hearts to receive it. Guide and anoint us for this Kingdom task. In Jesus’ name. Amen

Feb 22 – Father, help me to remember Christ’s Great Commission – that I am included in it.

Thank You for the place I have found in Your Kingdom work!

I pray for anyone who has not yet come to that place of maturity, spiritual health and witness, lead them into that Good Place of being a Sower of Kingdom Seed.

May we be effective witnesses by word and life, who keep continually full of Your Missional, wonderful, Holy Spirit. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Feb 23 – Lord Jesus, a Christian should be one who sows the seed, waters when necessary, weeds when necessary, and looks to You to embolden and enable him or her to do so.

Forgive me for the times that I have not allowed my light to shine out to others, and have not been listening for Your Spirit’s guidance, nor relying on His strength and grace.

Forgive me for the times I have sought to build my own house and city apart from You. I rededicate myself to Your service afresh, and to become a whole-hearted follower of You in my home, workplace, school, college or uni, marketplace, leisure-place and in the different levels of relationships in all these places. Amen

Feb 24 – Lord Jesus, we recognise that the condition of the soil is not our worry, but we should always be seeking to prepare the soil by building relationships with people so that they can see You in us! However, we know that we will not get anywhere with some – Satan snatches away the seed.

Therefore, when we have done everything we can by praying for, witnessing to, and living out our faith before everyone, we acknowledge that You are the only Saviour, and that Your Kingdom will grow as You draw men and women, young adults, young people and children to Yourself.

On this day when it is the first anniversary of the illegal and unprovoked Russian invasion of Ukraine – we do pray for Ukrainian victory, the full reclamation of all their land from Russian occupation, and the establishment of a just, lasting and secure peace afterwards. Amen

Feb 25 – Help us, Father, to not base our faith’s standing, and joy in life, solely on the conversion of certain people – we look to You for the salvation of those we share Your word with.

We acknowledge that some will appear to have dramatic results quickly in their lives only for it to wither quickly away in the hour of trial – the scorching sun.

Others will be doing well, but always with that nagging feeling that there is a lot of worldliness which eventually does choke the good work of sanctification so that they are unsanctified in conduct and faith – among the thorns.

Help us to persevere sowing the Kingdom Seed of the Gospel when these setbacks occur ultimately assured that You are faithful to not forget our labour and service for Christ (Hebrews 6:10). Amen

Feb 26 – Father, we believe that we will see a crop as expected – 30x, 60x and 100x – we give the glory, honour, thanks and praise to our Lord Jesus for this.

We pray that there will be many times when it is 60x.

We also pray that 2023 will be a year when we see the crop miraculously beyond anyone’s expectation – 100x. In Jesus’ name and for His glory. Amen
