Daily Prayers 22-28 August

Aug 22 – The focus of this week’s prayer letter is again on Kingdom Building, particularly on building from the strength of Jesus’ victory.

Lord Jesus, in Luke 10:18, You said, ‘I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven.’ These words were spoken after Your 72 disciples returned reporting the wonderful things they had seen happen as they preached the Gospel and ministered healing to many.

As Your people obey You, and partner with the Spirit in Your mission, amazing things happen, You get the glory, and Your light and truth dethrones Satan in this world. Give attuned ears to be able to hear Your directions for our lives.

Lord, You are magnificent – You won a decisive and complete victory over the enemy of our souls on Calvary. Although I know that Satan can still tempt and trouble me – thank You that, because of Your victory on Calvary, he does not have the power to overcome me, if I abide in You.

Grant me the fullness of Your Spirit, grace and anointing needed to continually abide in You. Abiding is not passive, it is active – trusting, resting, obeying, following, worshipping and ministering for You.

In You I can overcome Satan by trusting in the victory of Your perfect life, death, resurrection and ascension. By faith, I draw upon the full benefits of Your Atonement, and victory over Satan, sin, self and the world. I come boldly to ask that Your Kingdom rule will reign in me, our church, our town and county, and in our nation. Amen

Aug 23 – We read in Romans 8:1‑4, CSB, ‘Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those in Christ Jesus, because the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and death. For what the law could not do since it was weakened by the flesh, God did. He condemned sin in the flesh by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh as a sin offering, in order that the law’s requirement would be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.’

Father, I declare these words out loud: the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus sets me free from the biggest and most powerful enemies of my soul: Satan, sin, self and the world.

In Christ, there is victory. I pray that the power and authority of these verses will be rooted in my life enabling me to apply them, in faith, each and every day. Thank You that if I live according to Your Spirit, these words have power to transform my whole walk with Christ.

I pray that this will take place – cleanse and sanctify me. I pray these verses over Telford Elim, in person and online, and pray that they will release Your power over our Kingdom building focus. In Jesus’ name. Amen

Aug 24 – Father, although I still experience temptation, by Your Spirit and Word, I have the resources, which are mine through Christ’s victory, to allow me to live in victory over Satan, sin, self and the world.

As I seek to live this higher Christian life, may it start to really impact those in the sphere of my influence in my family, school, college, marketplace, community and workplace.

You call me to be a spiritually mature Kingdom Builder. As I commit my way to You, trust also in Christ, You will raise me up, and our church, to be highly effective Kingdom Builders.

Lord, we pray for our church to be full of good fruit, many people being saved, and many people sanctified, worshipping and serving Christ. Teach us how to give unreservedly and wholeheartedly of all that we are to Your Kingdom’s cause. In Jesus’ name and for His glory. Amen

Aug 25 – Lord Jesus, You are the great ‘I AM’ the only begotten Son of God – I believe and declare this to be true. You also said, John 4:34, ‘My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me and to finish His work.’ You were focussed on fulfilling Your Father’s purposes.

You were completely consumed by:

i. Your Mission – to be the Spirit-endowed Suffering Messiah who is the only way to the Father. I pray that we also will be fully committed to the Father’s will and purposes.

ii. Your pre-ordained Mandate – the prophetic parameters laid down in the Holy Scriptures for Your life and its purpose which You perfectly fulfilled in every way. I pray that we will be prophetically guided in the way You would have us to go.

iii. Your Methodology – the establishment of a core group of believers who, for three years, You invested love, time, teaching, on the job training, giving them an example of true godliness and holiness. I pray that Telford Elim will be raising up such disciples – men, women, young adults, young people and children whose lives are rooted in Your Kingdom and its principles.

Lord, I know that as we walk in the Spirit, our focus will change from self to You, and from us controlling our choices to being consumed by doing Your will!

I pray for each one of us in Telford Elim, in person and online, to be Spirit-filled – anointed so that we may indeed walk in step with Your Spirit fulfilling Your purposes and living as You would have us live. Amen

Aug 26 – Father, the enemies Christ overcame included sin and death – death’s sting being sin, and sin’s power being the law. 1 Corinthians 15:55‑57, ‘”Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?” The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.’

Sin is what separates humankind from You, it always ultimately results in death – spiritual and physical; but thank You Lord Jesus that You have overcome Satan, sin, self, the world and death.

Lord Jesus, You openly triumphed victoriously over these powers ushering in Your Kingdom with its true life, righteousness, cross-centred discipleship, and new, love motivated way of building society. May that victory be continually outworked in my life and in our Church. To You be all the glory. Amen

Aug 27 – Father, we will have trouble in this world, but Your Son has overcome the world. As I live out my Christian faith, I know I can then take heart in the love and commitment of our Lord Jesus. In fact, in John 16:33, I am commanded to take heart.

Lord Jesus, You have overcome the great enemies of Satan, sin, self and death. As a result, I can now live in Your victory because of my faith. I can, day by day, overcome sin a little more by living and walking in the Spirit and obeying Your word.

In Christ I can also overcome poverty of spirit because I choose to bring all things to You in prayer connecting with the riches of Your grace and love. Father, in Your Son’s glorious name, I lay before You my desire for our church to be a Kingdom Building church which creates many new, mature disciples (John 16:24); I pray that it will be so. In Jesus’ name. Amen

Aug 28 – Father, thank You that You do not tempt anyone to sin. It is Satan who tempts and torments us with his lies and deception. It is he who adds the bait to the hook of our own sinful inclinations which then makes them appear so alluring and necessary for our lives at that moment.

Lord Jesus, You came to give us life in all its abundance. It is Satan who seeks to rob us of our peace and joy, seeks to kill our fruitfulness and spirituality by encouraging us to pursue everything except a life dedicated to Christ, to destroy our testimonies in front of others by making us appear to be hypocrites because of immature, worldly, character weaknesses.

Lord Jesus, this is the victory that overcomes all the enemies of our souls, even our faith. I believe that You can set each one of us free from Satan’s power, sin’s deceitfulness, self’s pride, vanity and sensuality, and the world’s relentless drive for independence from

Father. I confess, in the past, there are things that have enslaved and bound me – those carnal things such as bitterness, resentment, jealousy, pride, lust and selfishness. I ask for forgiveness, cleansing through Your blood, and to be set apart for Your worship and service.

Lord, I commit myself to partner with Your Spirit in this wonderful overcoming life; but also, I acknowledge my personal responsibility – I have to obey You, walk in step with Your Spirit, and live out Your Word. Empower me, and each one of us in Telford, in person and online, to do so. Amen
