Mar 11 – This Week’s Prayers are developed out of a Reflection on Mother’s Day.
Father, thank You for those who have set us an example of faith. Thank You for every mother, whether a biological mother or a mother in the faith.
Thank You for their fortitude in the face of suffering, and passionate spirituality by how they live among us, worship You and served Your Beloved Son. They are wonderful examples of sincere faith. Bless each woman in Telford Elim, in person and online.
May all the women we know and love have their identity clearly established in Christ. Help each one to clearly understand and experience the full richness of the Adoption of the Spirit leading to a full, biblical, experiential assurance of faith and salvation.
May each one be born again, and walk in the confidence that each one of us are Your sons and daughters. May this permeate through every aspect of our lives and conduct. In Jesus’ name. Amen
Mar 12 – Father, You call us to be a people of prayer – praying always in the Spirit. Again, grant us the revelation and understanding as to the nature of biblical prayer, and how we personally, by our prayers, relationally lay all our requests before You.
Thank You for those who model prayer to us. Help us also to learn our own rhythm and style of prayer. As our awareness of the importance and power of praying to You grows – teach us to better appreciate and understand the essence of our relationship with You, through Christ, which is at the heart of true Christian prayer.
Prayer is our chance to communicate with You, and to learn more how to be guided by Your Spirit’s direction in our prayer. As we listen to other people pray, we also grow and develop our own prayer lives as we apply some of the truths found in their prayers.
May corporate and individual biblical prayer be highlighted, modelled and practised in our church, and in the churches of our Borough, Telford & Wrekin, and County of Shropshire. In Jesus’ name. Amen
Mar 13 – Father, Your Word is so wonderful, inspiring, and challenging. It contains not only historical facts, theological reflections, and principles for creating a godly community – it is also warmly personal for each one of us teaching us the way of salvation.
Your word is powerful and life transforming, able to reshape and remodel the person who reads it with the mind and nature of Christ. We ask for Your blessing on our TE Women ministry led by Adeola Allinson and her team. May Your word be each woman’s joy and delight.
We pray for the removal of any blockages to our relationship with Christ – that these will be unblocked in order that we may be able to fully receive and obey Scriptural Truth.
Your word is also effective in exposing the foundations of evil and their strategies, and pointing us to Christ and His way of truth, righteousness and love.
Throughout the Ages Satan has sought to destroy Your people and their witness to Christ. Grant us hearts, minds and the understanding in order to fully engage with the Bible, to overcome the evil one, and to be firmly rooted in Christ. In Jesus’ mighty name and for His glory. Amen
Mar 14 – Father, to live in the fullness of Your Spirit is an amazing lifestyle. In order for us to keep being filled to overflowing – we need to learn how to rely, in faith, on Your Holy Spirit’s presence, provision and power. Teach us how to do this.
You are good, and Your ultimate desire is for each believer to understand and do that which it reflects Your nature and character – it takes a Spirit-filled life to truly do this. You are generous and open-handed towards Your people. We accept this truth, and pray for a fresh infilling by Your Holy Spirit each and every day.
We also acknowledge that Your Spirit is holy and requires us to live a life that is just, good and full of biblical obedience. We pray that the principles of biblical living, that help align us with Your good and perfect will, will be clearly understood, taught and applied in our church, in person and online.
May this godly alignment remove carnality, and usher in a time of spiritual growth, breakthrough and renewal inside our own lives, in our church, and through us to others. In Jesus’ name. Amen
Mar 15 – Father, it is a privilege to seek to live in such a way so that You are glorified, honoured and praised. To bring glory to Christ is the noblest desire, and also a sign of the Spirit’s Lordship as He inspires us to glorify Jesus.
To seek to live without denigrating or dishonouring Jesus and His name – is a good thing. Teach me, and our church, more about His glory, what it is, and how to better glorify Him.
May Jesus’ splendour and honour be rightly revered in and by my life, in our church, in person and online. May this spill over into our communities, in our Borough, and in our County.
May He increase in our estimation, and in the life of our church – its members and those who attend. May Jesus be greatly honoured because of my life, our church, and the churches in this nation. In Jesus’ name. Amen
Mar 16 – Father, thank You for our Kids Extravaganza teachers, and all who seek to teach and model authentic Christian spirituality and its lifestyle to our children. Thank You for the participation by the children in honouring the women in our church on Mother’s Day. Bless each child.
Bless each faithful Kids Extravaganza teacher and helper. May a successful, thriving partnership grow further between our church’s children’s and young people’s ministries, their parents and families so that lasting, good, righteous fruit is produced; and so our children and young people are part of the church of today.
We often plough a lonely furrow in our wider society teaching about the New Birth and Your Word to children and young people – but it is worth doing. Open doors of opportunity to do this, raise up more labourers for this harvest field, and grant us favour, grace and much fruit from these labours for Christ.
Thank You for the hope of seeing the positive impact and good fruit from this dedication, this commitment to the godly, biblical raising of children and young people.
Holy Spirit, guide our children and young people in the pathway of faith in Christ, living a Spirit-filled life, and following Him in cross-centred discipleship. In Jesus’ name. Amen
Mar 17 – Father, preaching Christ is a wonderful thing. May our words and actions preach Christ. May the Spirit so fill us that we may proclaim Christ’s love, grace and salvation with power, boldness and success.
You define success as bringing honour and glory to Jesus, making mature disciples, producing much righteous fruit, and equipping disciples to make more disciples. Guide us through the process of clearing any rubble that prevents these good outcomes.
We pray for sensitivity to Your Spirit to know how to witness, and when to witness in power, and with grace; and for the insight to know when You are sending us a divine appointment to preach Christ, and the courage to actually do this.
Thank You that You are not monochrome, but many splendoured, sensitive to the needs of the one we witness to, full of grace and truth, and able to direct us in Your perfect will. I offer myself today to be used by Your Spirit to preach Christ by word and life.
I don’t want to bring reproach on Christ because of my lifestyle, character or insensitive approach. Forgive me when I go wrong. Renew and sanctify/set me apart for Your worship, service and witness.
Renew my thinking in Your word, and by Your Spirit. Use me, Lord, to bring people to Jesus, and then to connect them with Your body the church so they can be disciple and mature in faith.
Teach and anoint our church to do this all really well. In Jesus’ name. Amen
