Daily Prayers 11 – 17 July

The prayers this week, 11-15 July, are written around the theme of the Kingdom of God, by Steve Higgins.

July 11 – Father we thank You for Your tender mercies and loving kindness towards us, the body of Christ here in Telford. We are so thankful for the freedom we have to worship You, our God.

Thank You for the many blessings You pour into our daily lives. Thank You that we are united through the body of our Lord Jesus Christ, and that You bring all races and cultures together as one body of people.

We give You praise for the way You are able to unite the body of Christ, the Church, in order that we might work together for Your purposes giving glory to Jesus’ name. We pray for an increase of Your Spirit’s presence, power and anointing over our town.

Father, may Your kingdom come and Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. We humble ourselves before You praying and seeking Your face on the behalf of our town and county – save Telford and Shropshire.

Lord Jesus, there is no one like You, our Saviour and Lord. You dwell in Trinity: Almighty God, Son of God and Holy Spirit; the one and only true Saviour of the world who is able to transform those who are willing to lay their lives down, trusting in Your will and purposes, and follow You.

We believe Your word that says as we turn from our wicked ways in repentance and faith to Christ, You forgive our sins and heal our land. Lord, come heal our land, and help us to be a light in the darkness as we speak the name of Jesus. Amen

July 12 – Heavenly Father, we confess that we are all one in the body of Christ just as You, the Son and Holy Spirit are one. Let Your heartbeat be among us so that together we are able to move forward in Your love – committed to You and Your will. Holy Spirit, reveal the Father’s heart to more and more people through Telford Elim, in person and online.

We pray for unity and peace in the body of Christ. We stand against every label that serves to divide Your people: labels like denomination, political party affiliation, race, ethnicity, nation of origin and economic status. We declare we are one in Christ, and stand against the spirits of confusion, arrogance, deceit, and pride.

May we be like minded with no division in spirit among us. Help us to love our neighbours as ourselves. Father, You said that in Your Son there is neither Jew nor Greek, bond nor free, male nor female. We confess we are all one in Christ Jesus – so we will put on love with the bond of peace. Amen.

July 13 – Father God, we ask that You fill every believer with the knowledge of Your will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding. Help us to walk in a worthy manner that we might live lives that are pleasing to You, being fruitful in every good work.

We ask that You will strengthen our church leaders helping them to represent You and Your kingdom on earth. Holy Spirit, empower us and unify our spirits to receive and submit to Your vision for the salvation of our town.

Help us all together to do our part as individual members to bring Kingdom change in our society, demonstrating the fruit of the Spirit in our love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.

Father, we offer ourselves afresh on Your holy altar – accept our offering. Anoint, guide and empower us to bring hope and peace into the lives of those we meet in our daily living – giving glory to Christ’s name. Amen.

July 14 – Father we pray for those who are engaged in a spiritual battle help them to look to You, and keep their eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfector of our faith. He is our commander and Lord, and through Him we will gain small wins which eventually lead to great victories.

Train and guide us in how to put on Your whole armour to fight against the accuser who seeks to lead us into condemnation. May each of us believe, know and live in such a way so that our witness to Jesus points to the truth the He already has won the battle on the cross.

Lead us not into temptation. Empower us to walk the discipleship pathway with Christ seeing His redemption and deliverance at work in and through each of our lives. Lead is into a new place where the resurrection power of Christ is daily at work among us.

Holy Spirit, come and empower our lives leading each one of us to wholeness in Christ, and into a place of full restoration. Lord, we thank You for Your promises that You will never leave us nor forsake us, and that in Christ we are more than conquers.

Lord, help us all to be kingdom minded and not earthly minded – Kingdom builders and not earthly empire builders so that we live a life of obedience and good fruitfulness bringing glory to Christ’s holy name. Amen

July 15 – Lord Jesus, You are the image of the invisible God – the One who existed before anything was created. Keep our eyes fixed on the knowledge and experience of Your love – keep our minds set on taking up our cross daily and following You.

We praise You that we can live our lives in the overflow of Your love, sharing the good news of the Gospel. Help us to speak about and minister Your grace into the lives of those we meet in our daily living, no longer holding back that which You have given us – for You are Jesus Christ our Saviour and Lord.

Father, help us to walk in the light as Christ is the light, to live victorious lives bringing glory to His name in order that sin would be being overcome in each of our lives, and the love of Christ would shine through each one of us into all that we do and say.

Spirit of God, continue to fill our lives daily so that we may be disciple makers for the extension of Your kingdom, and that we will live lives worthy of Your calling. Keep our hearts and minds on heavenly things through our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.

July 16 – A Kingdom Mindset by Pastor Leslie – Father, our minds, and our viewpoint on life have a big impact on how we feel, look at the world, and seek to follow Christ. Thank You for how You designed the human brain – it is amazing organ. It is vital to everything we do. It controls, regulates and engages every part of us.

The mind is part of our brain. It is about the ability to think, reason, sense and engage with ourselves, others, the world around us, and with You. In the body imagery used of the Church, Christ is the head of the Church. This is such a good analogy of the reality because He is the life source for His Church – He is its first cause – His word the very foundation of everything.

Lord, our minds have a mindset, in other words, they have an outlook on life, a viewpoint which is unique to each one of. They colour how we look at life, the world around us, and at You and Your ways. We declare Ephesians 4:20-24, CSB,

‘But that is not how you came to know Christ [Paul has just explored the futility and emptiness of the Gentile life outside of Christ, and of their thinking], assuming you heard about Him and were taught by Him, as the truth is in Jesus, to take off your former way of life, the old self that is corrupted by deceitful desires, to be renewed in the spirit of your minds [in your viewpoint on life], and to put on the new self, the one created according to God’s likeness in righteousness and purity of the truth.’

Lord, may we take off the old and put on the new, being renewed in the spirit of our minds – our viewpoint or mindset about life being righteous and established in Your truth. May many more step into this biblical lifestyle and mindset because of the people and ministries of Telford Elim, in person and online. In Jesus’ name. Amen

July 17 – A Kingdom Mindset by Pastor Leslie – In Romans 12:2, Paul said, CSB, ‘Do not be conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may discern what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God.’

Holy Spirit You are essential to renewing our thinking, as is Your word, and fellowship with other mature believers.

We pray today for any stuck in a negative mindset which is destructive because it roots them into the past – into the carnal nature that once controlled our lives. Because of their negative headspace – they revert back, react in Christ-dishonouring ways – and seek to numb the pain, or alleviate the boredom, or deal with the stress or issue in worldly ways.

Lord, a renewed positive headspace is healthier for us – it roots us into Your godly ways and means – it points us forward to the hope of our salvation, Colossians 3:2-3, ‘Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God.’

It encourages us to act in Christ-honouring ways – Philippians 2:5, NKJV, ‘let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus.’

To engage with ourselves, one another, and the world in loving, truthful and righteous ways – it connects us to healing grace and Your powerful, life-giving word – 2 Timothy 3:15-16, CSB, ‘All Scripture is inspired by God and is profitable for teaching, for rebuking, for correcting, for training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.’

We pray that many will be equipped and enabled to live in the fullness of the Spirit today, in this new place whereby our mindsets/viewpoints/spirit of our minds are renewed in Christ. Amen.
