The Daily Prayers this week are on the love of Christ.
Dec 11 – Father, we pray that each person will be deeply immersed in Jesus’ love, for His love to be perfected in them, and for them to be so filled by Your Spirit that His love will be at the centre of their relationships, their lives, worship giving and ministry/service.
Lord, grant that we will be a church that leads many into the Faith, and into a life transforming experience of Jesus’ love. Amen
Dec 12 – Each day’s prayer is taken from 1 John 4. Allow the words to soak into your spirit and to feed your soul with His overwhelming love.
Verses 7-8, CSB, ‘Dear friends, let us love one another, because love is from God, and everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. 8The one who does not love does not know God, because God is love.’ Amen
Dec 13 – Verses 9-10, CSB, ‘God’s love was revealed among us in this way: God sent his one and only Son into the world so that we might live through him. 10Love consists in this: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the atoning sacrifice for our sins.’ Amen
Dec 14 – Verses 15-16, CSB, ‘Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God — God remains in him and he in God. 16And we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us.
God is love, and the one who remains in love remains in God, and God remains in him.’ Amen
Dec 15 – Verses 17-19, CSB, ‘In this, love is made complete with us so that we may have confidence in the day of judgment, because as he is, so also are we in this world. 18There is no fear in love; instead, perfect love drives out fear, because fear involves punishment. So the one who fears is not complete in love. 19We love because he first loved us.’ Amen
Dec 16 – Verses 20-21, CSB, ‘If anyone says, “I love God,” and yet hates his brother or sister, he is a liar. For the person who does not love his brother or sister whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen. 21And we have this command from him: The one who loves God must also love his brother and sister.’ Amen
Dec 17 – Lord Jesus, let me be an instrument of Your love. May we as a church be instruments of Your love. May there be an overflow of Your love flowing out from us and transforming all who it comes into contact with.
Bless our Christmas family service this morning, and our Christingle and Carol service this evening. Amen
