Day 1 | Pastor Leslie
Holiness and Godliness:
These two great biblical themes are wonderfully brought together in 2 Peter 3:11-12a, ESV, ‘Since all these things are thus to be dissolved, what sort of people ought you to be in lives of holiness and godliness, waiting for and hastening the coming of the Day of God…’
The context is Peter dealing with the end of the world, some of the signs of its approaching, and how we should live in the light of it – of Christ’s Second Coming. He counsels believers to lives of holiness and godliness.
Father, as we take time this month to join with Elim churches across the nation to consider consecration – we acknowledge that it involves a very different mindset to that which is in the world.
It means to be set apart for Your service, and also to reflect Your holy nature through our lives, fellowship and service.
Holy Spirit empower us to offer ourselves afresh to Christ in this month, and we ask that you will impart Your holy nature more and more into us each and every day. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Day 2 | Adeola Allinson
Prayer of Consecration
Abba Father, thank You for You are good, perfect, holy, trustworthy and just. Your word in 2 Corinthians 8:5, KJV, tells us that ‘And this they did, not as we hoped, but first gave their own selves to the Lord, and unto us by the will of God.’
Our prayer is that You set us apart to give ourselves to Christ, committing all of our ways to You, and then to one another out of that new place of consecration.
Father, help us not to rely on our own understanding. We pray that our priority will be towards spiritual things and not physical, steer our hearts towards the things of the Kingdom, to thirst for more of Jesus through the Spirit of truth.
We ask that the Holy Spirit will give us the enablement to be intentional in avoiding things / issues that may hinder us from connecting with You, our God.
Help us Lord, we look up to Christ with our hearts set on following Him. Holy Spirit come in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Day 3 | Pastor Malcolm
1 Peter 3:15, NKJV, ‘But sanctify [set apart] the Lord God [Jesus Christ] in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defence to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear.’
At this time of fasting, abstinence and consecration, we come to prayerfully reflect on this verse in its original context of ‘suffering for doing good’ (3:14).
Lord Jesus, today we come to pledge allegiance to You as Lord over our lives.
We ask You, Holy Spirit, to continue Your work in our lives to enable us to live godly lives that are surrendered to Your will and ways.
We pray that You will help us to take up our cross each day and follow You, and to know its true meaning. Amen.

Day 4 | Pastor Malcolm
Today, as we come to the second part of this verse (1 Peter 3:15), Peter tells us that we should always be ready to give a defence to everyone who asks for a reason for the hope that we have.
Lord Jesus, You have taught us in Your word that out of the overflow of the heart, the mouth speaks.
We ask You, Holy Spirit, that as we surrender our hearts again each day to Your Lordship and presence in our lives, help us to speak out to those we meet in our day.
To those who are searching for answers, to those who are seeking guidance for their lives, help us to witness effectively in such a way that will bring glory to Jesus and His name. Amen.

Day 5 | Adeola Allinson
2 Timothy 2:20-21, KJV, ‘But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour. 21 If a person therefore purge oneself from these, he or she shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master’s use, and prepared unto every good work.’
Father Lord, we pray to yield ourselves to righteousness and holiness; we ask that we be vessels of honour set aside for Your kingdom.
Daddy Lord, purify and forgive us from all unrighteousness, unfaithfulness and sins that are pulling us away from Christ.
Father, we pray for Your mercies even as Your word says in Psalm 51:1, “Have mercy on me, O God; according to your steadfast love; according to Your abundant mercy blot out my transgressions.”
Have mercy on us. Let Your kingdom come and glorify Christ among us. Thank You for Your faithfulness towards us. Have Your way, O Lord. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Day 6 | Steve Higgins
Father God, we thank You that Your love passes all understanding.
You know everything about us. Our strengths, our weaknesses. You have called us by name to be reconciled to You through the blood of our saviour, Jesus Christ who intercedes for us and covers us with a robe of righteousness.
We pray that You will lead us into a deeper relationship with Christ, so that we may grow in faith and be more attentive to Your calling on our lives.
We pray that Your love will continue to change us into who You want us to be in Jesus.
We praise You for all You do in our lives. We give thanks for Your daily provision, and the many blessings You bestow on our lives. You are worthy to receive all honour and glory.
We hunger and thirst for more of Your presence. Let Your will be done in our daily lives so that we may draw closer to You in all that we do.
Very often we can be misguided in our lives by walking our own way and not listening to Your still small voice. Lord, You know our hearts and desires. We pray that everything we do will be aligned to Your perfect will.
We are formed and made in Your image; may we reflect everything You are in our daily living being spiritually mature, walking in Your grace which enables us to face even the toughest days in our lives.
Help us to focus on the new life we have in Jesus which gives us joy, hope and the peace that in turn gives us the strength to walk in the power of the Holy Spirit.
You have called us to be set apart from this world, giving ourselves wholly to Your purposes; presenting our bodies as a living sacrifice, living holy lives that are pleasing to you. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Day 7 | Ifeoma Ajoku
Heavenly Father,
We come to You with open hearts, ready to learn and grow in Your love. Thank You for Your goodness and for guiding us every day. This September, we want to draw closer to You. Help us to remove our distractions and focus on Your love and goodness.
Lord, search our hearts and minds. Show us any wrong thoughts or actions, and help us to turn away from them. We want to live in a way that makes You happy. Teach us to love others as You love us, and to act with kindness and respect in everything we do.
As we pray and fast this month, may we grow stronger in our faith, and more like Jesus in our words and actions. Help us to reconsecrate our friendships, activities, and thoughts to You, and let Your Spirit guide us each day. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Day 8 | Helen Lambie
Dear Father God,
We thank you for all Your gracious gifts. We come before You now and bring our children, we dedicate them into Your hands as Kids Extravaganza starts back today for a new season. Asking protection over their hearts and minds, especially as they are growing up in this world with its distractions and selfishness’.
As our children’s workers continue to grow in Your love and wisdom, we pray their service will impact upon the children they teach; for the parents and families bringing up our children, we pray for Your wisdom, patience and kindness to abound. Let Your Word be the lamp to our children’s feet.
For every word of Yours that is spoken, every lesson that is learnt, every prayer that is spoken, and every sound of worship, that Lord, it will be protected, nurtured, grown and be full of fruit in our children’s lives.
Father God, we pray Jesus will be the centre of our own, and our children’s, lives. That as we focus on Christ and consecrate our lives to You, our children will see Jesus in our lives.
In Jesus’ precious name. Amen.
