Apr 27 – This week’s prayers are again written by Sam Adjepong, our church Elder. Father, in the name of Jesus, we lift up to You everyone in our church – including the married couples. We pray for each person, and each couple, to be protected, strengthened in their relationships and faith, and for them to learn how to draw upon Your sustaining grace each and every day.
Lord, put a hedge of protection around each person as they seek to put You first in their marriages, families and relationships. Bless those who are single and alone at this time – uphold, encourage and sustain them through the Lockdown. Yes, as couples agree to dwell together in Your secret place, worshipping and praying together before Your throne, in the presence of the Most high God, and abide in Christ, You will indeed be a refuge and fortress to them.
No evil shall be able to overcome us – whether single, married, or with family; we will grow in wisdom, in stature, spiritual understanding, and in the experience of Your grace and favour. You have promised these blessings for all who will wholeheartedly seek first Your Kingdom and righteousness. We proclaim these blessings over each person, each couple, and each family today. In Jesus’ name. Amen
Apr 28 – Father, thank You that when couples set their hearts to follow and obey Christ, to love and trust Him, You are faithful and merciful to draw near to them by Your Spirit. When they are in the bond of Holy Matrimony You even make Your angels encamp around them and keep them safe.
For all the couples in, or associated with, our church, Lord we pray that their love will be refined and become more Christ-honouring – that they will abound more and more in knowledge and all discernment – that they may approve the things in this life that are excellent, godly and holy – and may be sincere and without offense till the day Christ returns. Lord, we praise You for answered prayer. In Jesus’ name. Amen
Apr 29 – Blessing and honour and glory and power to our Father who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb forever and ever. Hallowed be Your glorious name.
Father, You have revealed Yourself as the One who knows all our needs, and is committed to providing for them in Christ (Philippians 4:19) – if we:
i. …will pray and petition You for everything we need with thanksgiving and gratitude (4:6),
ii. …ask for the power to live contentedly in every given situation – and to do all things through Christ’s strength (4:11-13),
iii. …share in the troubles of others by praying for them and supporting them (4:14),
iv. …are generous, living sacrificially, making offerings that are pleasing to You (4:10, 15-18).
Then ‘my God will meet all our needs according to His glorious riches in Christ Jesus.’ Amen
Apr 30 – Father, we proclaim over everyone in and associated with our church – that You are the One who sends Your word and heals us. The God-Who-Forgives all our iniquities and heals all our diseases. You are the One who sets us apart for Yourself, in Christ, and lifts up the banner of Your Spirit against the attacks and onslaught of the enemy.
Lord Jesus, You are our Righteousness, our Peace, our Great Shepherd and our Helper. Hallowed be Your name. We praise You today, Lord Jesus. Everything in us shouts out our praises to You. You are sufficient for everything we need. And all because of You Lord Jesus, we stand justified and connected to Father God. Hallelujah. This is our declaration of faith and we stand upon it. In Jesus’ name and for His glory. Amen
May 1 – There are about seven things I have found in the word of God which we ought to do always, continuously, day and night, and without ceasing. These things will change our relationship with others:
- Live everyday being filled with God’s Spirit (Ephesians 5:18)
- Rejoice always every single day (1 Thessalonians 5:16; Philippians4:4)
- Pray about everything without ceasing (1 Thes.5:17)
- Give thanks always and in all situations (Ephesians 5:20)
- Give continuous praise (Psalm 34:1; Hebrews13:15)
- And meditate on and study the word of God day and night (Psalm 1:2).
- Deny oneself, take up your cross each day and follow the Lord Jesus (Luke 9:23).
Thank You Father, that the teaching of Your word gives light so even the simple can understand. You have shown us how to overcome and live victorious lives. When we struggle Lord, help us! When we are weary – please refresh us. When we are broken – restore us. And when we are feeble and fearful – Lord, fill us with your Spirit who gives us power, love and a sound mind. We look to you Lord Jesus as we run with endurance the race that You have set before us. Amen
May 2 – Father, thank You for the privilege of coming before You in prayer in the name of Your Son, our Lord Jesus Christ. You give: i. more than a ‘bit’ of grace to enable us to love and share fellowship with others; ii. more than a ‘bit’ of grace in order for us to be grateful and thankful for how You deal with us; iii. more than a ‘bit’ of grace so we can be generous and give to others.
When we come to our senses and realise that even a small amount of Your grace causes the Christian virtues to flourish in and through us making all the difference in our interaction with others. You have never treated us as we deserve but continue to lavish your amazing grace upon us. We want to live and walk in Your favour, and grace, so whether we go out or stay in during these days -we become more gracious and more generous to others.
Father, we surrender every area of our minds, will and emotions to You so that Your goodness will follow after us. As You Discipline us, and we yield to Your Discipline, we become a spiritually mature people who see the best in others through the lense of Your will and purposes. Immature believers are easily offended – mature believers are secure in Christ following the narrow pathway of humility and grace. We pray that each person in or associated with our church will walk that pathway. We give You all the glory and all the praise for what You are doing in us as a fellowship of believers. In Jesus’ name. Amen
May 3 – What does the Lord require of us? Micah.6:8b gives us the answer: ‘To act justly, to love mercy and to walk humbly with our God.’ The Lord expects us to receive His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ as our Saviour, give our lives completely to Him, and go on to develop the character of Christ.
Our Father who is in heaven, hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come, Your will be done on earth, and in us, as in heaven. Empower us with Your Holy Spirit so that we may be effective witnesses for Christ. That we will be sensitive to the divine appointments You make for us, and that we will hide Your words deep in our hearts so that we may not sin against You.
Lord Jesus, help us to walk in Your love, to redeem the time, and patiently wait for Your coming. We pray that many people will call on Your name and be saved because of the ministries and witness of Telford Elim. You do not want any to be lost, but everyone to come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9), and a knowledge of Your truth (1 Timothy 2:4) – yet, as 2 Peter 3:10 tells us, You are coming suddenly to judge the world – therefore we ought to live holy and godly lives. Save, heal and cleanse our nation. Amen
