Oct 2 – Father, in order for people to be saved – they need to repent and believe into the Lord Jesus Christ. This is the New Birth, it is salvation. Without salvation, a person is lost.
In Christ, salvation brings so many blessings. The greatest blessing is a personal relationship with Christ Himself. Lord Jesus, You connect us to the Father. Holy Spirit, we are adopted into the family of God by Your work.
We pray that through the people and ministries of Telford Elim, You would be pleased to save many through Christ, connect them to Yourself, and adopt them into Your family. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
Oct 3 – Father, I pray that the following blessings of salvation will flow into many people through the people and ministries of Telford Elim:
A living, personal relationship with Christ.
The indwelling Holy Spirit.
Adoption into Your family.
The forgiveness of sin.
Justification by faith.
Access to You directly in prayer through Christ.
The call to partner with Christ through the Spirit in the Gospel mission.
The promises of grace, the resources of heaven, and the gifts of the Spirit to help us in life and in Your mission to the world – and the list could go on and on… In Jesus’ name. Amen.
Oct 4 – Father, in Ephesians 1, (v. 3) Paul blessed You – interestingly the Father and God of Jesus, emphasising the centrality of Christ to Paul’s, and the Ephesians’ salvation.
He said that his readers had already been ‘blessed with every spiritual blessing in the heavens in Christ.’ Paul was not writing to them saying that the information I give you will make you more blessed and add to your salvation; no, I am simply going to point out what you already have in Christ. You have so much more than you can even imagine.
Father, the spiritual blessings are the blessings that the Spirit brings to them, and makes real in them – they pertain to the Spirit’s presence among them, and they reflect Your commitment to every believer, their salvation, their sanctification and their fruitfulness in life and mission. The blessings Paul highlights include:
chosen to be holy
adopted through Christ
forgiveness and redemption in Christ
the provision of the grace, wisdom and understanding we will need for our salvation walk, heirs together of what God has prepared for us
sealed by the Spirit as a guarantee of the future inheritance we shall receive. Thank You. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
Oct 5 – Father, in Ephesians 1, the apostle spoke about the spiritual blessings we receive in and through Christ by the Spirit – these are real and life transforming.
He prayed for wisdom and revelation so our understanding will grow and deepen of all You have done for us, through Christ by the Spirit, so we are firmly rooted in our salvation – we pray that many more will be firmly rooted in Christ.
Paul gave a theological reflection on the pre-eminence of Christ, prayed into this, and highlighted the church’s dependence on Christ as its Head and Saviour – Jesus is Saviour and Lord. We proclaim Jesus as Lord every single person and ministry in Telford Elim. Amen.
Oct 6 – Father, in Ephesians 2:1-3, Paul wrote about the reality of the state of the person outside of Christ. They are servants of sin and Satan, driven by the desires of our sinful nature – spiritually dead in sin, ‘lifeless before God’ W MacDonald – in other words, closed off to You.
They are not interested in Christ, Your word, nor Your ways on Your terms. We acknowledge that many are interested solely in God on their own terms which do not save, and thus are subject to Your wrath or anger.
Enable and anoint us to convey this truth to many. Holy Spirit, work with us convicting people of these truths and turning them to Christ as the only answer to such a state of being. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
Oct 7 – Father, in Ephesians 2:4-7, the richness of Your mercy, love and grace, in Christ are revealed – saved by grace. Theologically, Paul stated that the same resurrection power and life that raised Christ from the dead – is at work in all who believe, because of Christ’s grace.
Christ is also our representative on the throne of grace in heaven – we are united to Him and therefore You, Father, Son and Spirit, all are completely committed to our salvation. In the ages to come You will point to all of us who are united to, and in Christ as the masterpiece of Your redemption and grace. Hallelujah.
Again we are asking that through Telford Elim its people and ministries, in person and online, many will be brought into a saving relationship with the Lord Jesus. Amen.
Oct 8 – Father, in Ephesians 2:8-10, salvation is the means whereby Your redemption transforms our lives. It is a salvation free and unmerited, salvation that leads to a life capable of knowing and doing Your creation mandate for good works.
We are saved by grace through faith and that not of our own good works. You save – we are saved. Thank You!
In essence, using the NLT as a basis, it is possible to state Ephesians 2:1-10 in the following way: ‘Once you were dead in sin…but God, who is rich in mercy…saved you by His grace when you believed. For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things He planned for us long ago.’
Your redemption in Christ is the good news of the Gospels, the New Testament and is prophesied about in the Old Testament. Anoint and equip us to share the Good News effectively in the fullness and power of Your Spirit. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
