The Daily Prayers this week are those written for the church’s month of prayer and fasting.

Jan 17 – Natalie Headley – Father, Almighty God, You are our strong-tower, our deliverer, our refuge and our strength. In You we put our trust and find our confidence in Christ – He is our peace. We pray by Your grace in Christ, that we will immerse ourselves daily into a deeper and more meaningful relationship with You through Jesus – a relationship wherein we will grow in faith, love, joy in Your salvation, and be led and follow the Holy Spirit’s calling and guidance each day.

Help us, Father, to be attentive to Your call. It is responding to Your call that causes us to walk in Your righteousness and reflect Jesus to everyone we meet, everywhere we go. Take us to new levels where we can experience an outpouring of Your love and mercy.

Open the eyes of our heart, for us to see all the many blessings You have bestowed upon us. We give You the praise and glory, and thank You for giving us what we need according to Your will. God, You alone, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, are worthy to be praised. In Jesus’ Name. Amen

Jan 18 – Himat Khetia – Lord Jesus, so often we put our attention and devotion on our jobs, our kids, our spouses, our hobbies with other demands of life which distract and allow them to become more important, or more of a priority, than our relationship with You.

Father, the first of the Ten Commandments states we will have no other gods before You; and Deuteronomy 5:8, NLT, says, ‘You must not make for yourself an idol of any kind, or image of anything in heavens or on the earth or in the sea.’ Yet, many things that occupy our time, money, thoughts and attention have taken the place where You are supposed to be. Forgive us, Father, and help us to make a goal this coming year of 2022 to have a deep and intimate relationship with You through Christ.

Holy Spirit, come into every area of our lives. Instead of constantly looking to other people for answers and validation, teach us to pray and rely upon Christ. We ask You to help us to be godly stopping doing those things that lead to sin and errors in life, and instead look unto Jesus in all circumstances.

1 Thessalonians 2:4, ‘On the contrary, we speak as those approved by God to be entrusted with the gospel.’ We are not trying to please people but God, who tests our hearts. As we live to please you, Lord Jesus, bless our lives and make us prosper spiritually so our joy and peace will increase.

Remind us to lean on You, merciful God, more than anything else. Yes, Lord, we want to do this, but we can’t do it in our own strength or ability we need You. Without You we are nothing. Thank You, Lord, for You understand when we make m still love us. Lord, be the centre of our lives, and let us see victory in Your Name. Amen

Jan 19 – Himat Khetia – Lord Jesus, thank You for redeeming us from the past. As Paul said in Ephesians 2:1-3, NLT, ‘Once you were dead because of your disobedience and your many sins. 2You used to live in sin, just like the rest of the world, obeying the devil—the commander of the powers in the unseen world. He is the spirit at work in the hearts of those who refuse to obey God. 3All of us used to live that way, following the passionate desires and inclinations of our sinful nature. By our very nature we were subject to God’s anger, just like everyone else.’

Lord, You are merciful and have set us free. Your will is that we grow in faith, wisdom, love and in many other ways – so please teach us to lean in in prayer for ourselves, our church and others to keep away from the attacks of the enemy, and to see Your purposes come to pass. Father, I believe that if we are faithful regularly praying and seeking Your face – we will see our lives as rooted in Christ, growing in ways we cannot even imagine.

Lord Jesus, You know our past and we praise You for coming into our lives by Your Spirit and changing our dark past to a bright future. Only You know what is most needed in our lives. Help us in controlling our tongues. Many times we can be extroverted people and speak words which can spoil relationships with others. Instead Lord, help us to use our tongues in wise ways so that we may have boldness in sharing the Word of Your love with others and be faithful to one another.

Your Word says in Proverbs 16, ‘Pleasant words are honeycomb and sweet to the soul and healing to the bones.’ If we have hurt ourselves or others, please Lord, heal those wounds setting us free from the enemy’s condemnation so there are no ungodly barriers up as we seek to glorify your Holy Name. Amen

Jan 20 – Pastor Samuel – God, I pray that we are open to Your leading and guiding as we begin this new season of reimagining our relationships with each other here in church. Jesus be the centre of our lives. May our conversations reflect You – yet, also reflect us as Your created masterpieces.

As we share life together, may our hearts be open to love as You have loved us. Let us have the freedom to tell of Your goodness and greatness, and let us be a blessing to each other as we encourage, laugh and call out the best in one another. May we truly become the family, community and body that Go led us to be, encompassing the oldest to the youngest. In Jesus’ name.

Jan 21 – Pastor Samuel – God, I pray that You give us Your heart for those outside of the church. Let us be Your ambassadors of love and gratitude and joy. Let us be the salt of the earth and light of the world.

Lord Jesus, as we strike up a conversation with strangers and neighbours, and even school and university friends, may we shine so bright for You. Let us be Your hands and feet in our context and in the world.

May Your Spirit speak through us when we do not sometimes know what to say so that people will know that we belong to You. By Your Holy Spirit, I pray, God, that we are a welcoming, loving community and a home for those desperately searching to be accepted, which includes, the younger generation.

Jan 22 – Pastor Alisha – Today we come before You, Lord Jesus; we ask for wisdom, direction, and discernment in reaching out. Jesus, we thank You for the ability to see another year. This year we submit our path onto You. It reads in Mathew 7:13-14, ‘For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, but small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life.’ Father, help us to be always be on the path that leads to a full, joy-filled, rich, abundant life in You. May we remember right in this m s in Psalm 119:105, ‘Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.’

Lord, give us the love for Your word – it is Your word that builds and grows our faith, Your truth will illuminate our paths before us. And Lord Jesus, as we abide in You praying, reading Your word and fellowshipping with other believers – we remain in You as You remain in us.

Jan 23 – Pastor Alisha – As we are in the midst of reimaging our faith in You, Jesus, let us be reminded of Psalm 142:2-3, ‘I pour out before Him my complaint, before Him I tell my trouble. When my spirit grows faint within me, it is You who watches over my way.”

Jesus, You are the God who cares about us, the God that listens to us, the God that watches over us whilst we sleep, because You never sleep, and You never slumber (Psalms 121). We can place our trust in You, we can pour out our troubles because You care for us (1 Peter 5:7).

Today I pray, God, that this truth is like a revelation to our spirits, that our spirits have a suddenly moment where they experience something shift and it transforms us from the inside out. Something which ‘catapults’ us closer to Your feet and Your heart, Lord Jesus.
