You will be helpfully greeted when you arrive by friendly people. We have a team of people who are available to help in any way they can.
During the pandemic, the chairs have been set up to comply with the government's social distancing rules. This has reduced capacity within our main hall, so it is advisable to book a seat via Eventbrite or contact us direct before coming along.
When you enter the building you will find a relaxed environment. People feel comfortable wearing what they feel comfortable wearing. Most people wear casual to casual smart clothing but it's really up to you. People are friendly (we've all visited for the first time) and you will see lots of genuine smiles.
A welcome will be given from the stage and then the band will lead us in some songs. The words appear on the large screen. We are currently not allowed to sing in Church due to the Corona virus, but are able to stand or sit as you prefer. Other elements that may be included are prayers for specific needs, stories of people who have experienced Gods help, Communion (a celebration of Jesus’ death and resurrection using the symbols of bread and juice) - you will need to bring your own communion with you, and announcements of things coming up in the church calendar. We also take an offering each week but this is primarily an opportunity for regulars to give - this takes the form of a container placed by the exit door to be used at the end of the service. All our services are live streamed and available for catch up later on. No member of the congregation is filmed directly (back of heads may appear).
We have limited car parking space on site. Further parking is available at Hadley Centre Car Park by Tesco Express. It is free and has unlimited time availability. From there it is only a short, 3 minute walk over the footbridge towards the 12 storey high rise block of apartments, The Haybridge – a well-known landmark in Hadley. Our church is alongside the Haybridge.
Kids + Youth
We have excellent kids and youth programmes for various ages, run by gifted teams (all DBS checked with appropriate safeguarding training). There is an online Kids Extravaganza every Sunday morning online at 9:30am. The youth are currently meeting online on a Thursday evening.
We have a baby changer in the disabled toilet, but our creche is not currently running due to Covid-19.
Each week a Bible based talk is given. We find that the Bible is full of gems that when explained, can relevantly impact our lives. The speakers are really down to earth and take care to explain things clearly, often using illustrations. Talks may include humour, inspirational stories and observations from everyday life but they always centre around the relevant message of the Bible, and last about 25 minutes in length.
During the service, we will often give opportunity for people to be prayed with in person. Some may want to become a Christian, others will be looking for healing, or hope in a difficult situation, and our Ministry Team count it a privilege to get alongside them. All Ministry complies with the current government regulations.
We are not currently allowed to serve refreshments in the Church due to the pandemic.
